RAWALPINDI: Once again the Customs court could not frame charges against model Ayyan Ali in the money laundering case on Thursday and the hearing was adjourned till October 28.

The hearing into the money laundering allegations being faced by Ayyan Ali was held in Judge Aftab Ahmed Khan’s court here.

Sardar Latif Khosa, the counsel for Ayyan Ali, submitted a petition for the release of his client under Sections-156 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). Upon this, the court postponed framing of charges against the accused till the decision is reached in this regard.

The court also issued a notice for the prosecution over the fresh petition filed on behalf of the defendant.

The petition stated that under the present circumstances, neither can charges be framed against the defendant nor can she be awarded punishment. It said Ayyan Ali’s trail will only waste the court’s time, and, therefore, she should be set free.

The petition further said the currency, passport and mobile phone confiscated from Ayyan Ali should also be returned to her. It said both the challans submitted by the Customs Department failed to prove any crime against the glamorous model.
